The original artwork for the print is a watercolour painting, based on plein air studies from trips across to Connemara in both the winters and summers. The Illustrated print also features hand-rendered type of the mountains listed within the mountain range of Co. Galway.
This particular print is based on a summer's day hike up the middle leg of the Maumturks, starting from Mammean, in which the summer's heat created a dusty haze over the landscape below and the mountains ahead faded into washes of pinks and purples.
